Five young adepts are their Kaer‘s last hope: a malconstruction slowly destroys the the magical matrix keeping the stronghold safe and now the inhabitants are trapped inside the walls. Only a small band of adepts can break the magical ban and leave. Hoping to retrieve a powerful old artefact to repair the damage, they set out on a perilous journey. Soon they discover that the outside world is a rough and lawless place. The adepts confront raiders and orc scorchers only to learn about a greater menace hidden in the waste wilderness of Barsaive.
