Preparations for the second edition of CCXP COLOGNE are currently in full swing. The focus will be on discussions with exhibitors, fan groups and the communities for which CCXP is being organised. The feedback of the past event will be incorporated into the planning for 2020 and the event will be further developed. In addition to many positive commitments from studios and companies for 2020, a number of changes have already been made. One of them is that CCXP COLOGNE will open its doors on three days in the future - so the upcoming CCXP COLOGNE will take place from 26 to 28 June 2020.
"We have designed the first CCXP COLOGNE according to the model of our successful event in Sao Paulo. With the experience of the first edition behind us and thanks to the extensive feedback we have received from exhibitors, visitors and communities, we can now make the changes that will make the event an even better experience for all involved", explains Pierre Mantovani, Managing Director of the Omelete Group, explaining how the decision was made to start on Friday for all visitors.
"CCXP COLOGNE was a lot of fun for everyone who attended," says Markus Oster, Business Unit Manager Koelnmesse. This can also be seen now in the discussions with film studios and other potential partners and exhibitors: "We are getting the signal from many brands that they would like to be at CCXP COLOGNE again or for the first time in 2020".
Looking to Sao Paulo
These past weeks the CCXP COLOGNE team has looked closely to Sao Paulo, where "the original" took place from 5 to 8 December 2019. All big film studios showed content on the stages. Star guests like director JJ Abrams, the actors John Boyega, Dayse Ridley (all Star Wars), Margot Robbie (Once upon a time in Hollywood), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) were in Sao Paulo. Also 500 artists of different genres took part in the sixth edition in the Artists' Alley of the CCXP in Sao Paulo. With more than 300,000 visitors, the CCXP in Sao Paulo set a new record.
Further details of the CCXP COLOGNE plans will also be published at the beginning of 2020. "We are taking the time to carefully plan this second edition," explains Alexander Wolff, Director of CCXP COLOGNE. "Some things we will already know at the beginning of the year, others will remain a surprise until shortly before the event. But we showed at the first edition that being there is definitely worth it - for exhibitors and visitors."
